Wood Fencing
Classic Privacy Fence
Our classic privacy fence option (stockade fence) is one of the most popular wood privacy fence styles. It features vertical wooden pickets placed tightly together and secured to horizontal rails, creating a solid barrier with no gaps. This design is ideal for complete privacy and is often used in suburban backyards to block visibility and reduce noise.
Alternating Panel Fence
This type of alternating panel fence is a creative, neighbor-conscious design where full fence panels—each several feet wide—are installed facing opposite directions between the posts. One panel faces into your yard, and the next panel faces into your neighbor’s yard, continuing this pattern along the property line. The result is a unique, balanced appearance where both sides see the “good side” of the fence in alternating sections.
Structurally, it functions just like a traditional privacy fence but with a thoughtful layout. It’s a great way to build goodwill and still enjoy a private backyard space.
Shadowbox Vertical Fence
Also known as a “good neighbor” fence, a shadowbox fence alternates pickets on either side of the horizontal rails, creating a semi-private design that looks the same from both sides. It’s a great compromise between privacy and aesthetics, offering airflow and partial visibility depending on the angle.
Shadowbox fences are ideal for shared property lines where both neighbors want an equally attractive view. However, they’re not fully private from every angle, so they may not be the best choice for people who want complete seclusion.
Shadowbox Horizontal Fence
Modern and stylish, horizontal slat fences use wooden boards installed parallel to the ground. The slats can be spaced tightly for full privacy or slightly apart for a more open feel. This type of fence works well with contemporary home designs and offers a fresh, clean-lined alternative to vertical pickets.
Ranch Style Fence
Our Ranch-style fences, also known as split rail or post-and-rail fences, are a timeless option often built on large properties, farms, and country estates. These fences feature horizontal rails attached to vertical posts, typically spaced widely apart. They’re designed more for marking boundaries and containing livestock than for privacy, but they offer a warm, open, and rustic charm that enhances the look of wide-open spaces.
Some homeowners add wire mesh along the inside of the rails for added security or pet containment without losing that iconic open-air style.
Lattice Top Fence
A lattice-top fence combines the structure of a solid wood fence with a decorative lattice panel at the top. The lower portion provides privacy, while the open lattice allows light and air to pass through—plus, it adds a charming architectural detail.
This style is popular for garden areas or yards where homeowners want to soften the look of a tall privacy fence. It also works well for training climbing plants or vines
